It is also the home of various array of ethnic minorities. There are 20 ethnic groups living in the province representing 84% of the population. Some of ethnic groups present in Lai Chau include H'mong, Dao, Tai, Mien, La Hu, Si la, and many others. Each of these groups has its own unique cultural identity, tradition and customs, contributing to the rich tapestry of the region.

Some activities may require transportation to the starting point. We typically recommend using a motorcycle, but we can switch to a car for a reasonable additional cost if you prefer.
The cost for a motorcycle is calculated for two people on one bike (moto-scooter 100 CC). If you prefer to ride alone, please add an extra $4.50 for half a day or $9 for a full day (includes bike rental & fuel). International driving licence will be necessary.
